Windows Vista, OneNote 2007, Project 2007, and Access 2007 are now available for download.

DIRECTIONS:

• To obtain a key code for a product, click on the "request" link provided. You will be asked for your yale netID and password. Once you have logged in, the appropriate key code will be displayed on the screen.

• PLEASE do not use MSDN-AA software for "testing". If you want to try out software, fully functional evaluation versions of many Microsoft operating systems and applications are available (to ALL Yale users) from Technet.

• Software marked as BETA is not supported and  may cause problems.  Use Beta software at your own risk.
  
  
• This page only has commonly-requested software and operating systems. See the Microsoft MSDNAA site for the full list of software included in the program. If you need something that is not listed on this page, please e-mail us.

How to install software from the network:

1. First, use this link to sign up for the MSDN-AA Program. Read the license information carefully, it's not the usual mumbo jumbo and there are important restrictions on how software may be used.

2. Next, please e-mail us and tell us what your netID is.  When you receive a confirmation message back, proceed to the next steps.

3. Make a note of the directory name (in the table above) for the software you want to install.

4. Make sure you are logged into your computer with your netID and password. How to do this on the various versions of Windows is in the Student Networking Manual.

5. Click on  "Start" and choose "Run..."

6. Type \\babs.its.yale.edu\msdn-aa in the Run... box and hit ENTER.

   There are two backslashes in front of "babs.its.yale.edu" and one backslash between ".edu" and "msdn-aa". Do not use any spaces or other punctuation.

7. After a few seconds, a window should appear with a list of folders in it.

8. Open the folder for the software you want to install, find SETUP.EXE and double-click on it to start the installation process.

It didn't work! Why??

• If you received an error message like "access denied", then either you didn't do steps (1) and (2) above, or you're not logged in with your correct netID and password.
  
  
• If you are connecting from off-campus, and received an error message like "the server could not be found", connect to the VPN first and then try again.
  
  When configuring the VPN, chere is a check box labeled "use default gateway on remote network" in the TCP/IP settings.  If this box isn't checked, then it won't work even though the VPN is connected.
